What to expect
Getting Started
You can contact us via email or phone and we will respond to you within 24 hours (unless you receive an out of office or the message advises you differently). When we reach out to you, we will either arrange a 15 minute phone consult or schedule a first appointment. Prior to the first appointment, we will instruct you to complete the following:
read and sign a consent form
read our disclosure information form
Both of these forms are available in the Counselling Forms section of this website. Before your first session, your counsellor will discuss the platform which will be used (FaceTime, Google Meet, Zoom etc.) as well as the counselling fee.
Your first session
In your first session, consent forms, privacy policies and confidentiality policies will be discussed. We do this to ensure that you, the client, are entering into a therapeutic relationship with a good understanding of what that encompasses. Payment is taken either prior to or at the beginning of a counselling session. Also, the first session is considered an intake session where your counsellor will ask many questions to have a better understanding of your situation so the best counselling approach for you can be determined.
Things to note
A session for an individual client lasts 50 minutes and will generally not be extended if the client has arrived late. Should you need to cancel an appointment, please give us at least 24 hours notice or you will be charged the full fee for your session.
We look forward to walking along side you.
